DESCRIPTION
If you think ice climbing is only for elite mountaineers, you’ll be surprised! The Ice Climbing Stage is a safe, adrenaline-filled experience, ideal both for beginners approaching the discipline for the first time and for experienced climbers looking to refine their skills.
During the day, under the guidance of a UIAGM Mmove Alpine Guide, you will learn:
- Movement on snowy and icy terrain.
- Walking and progression techniques with crampons (cramponage).
- Ice axe use for progression (piolet traction).
- Rope safety, climbing as both first and second.
- Top-rope climbing techniques (moulinette).
- Abseiling and safe descent methods.
The location will be chosen according to ice conditions, to ensure maximum safety and enjoyment. Beginners will try easier lines to build confidence, while experienced climbers can test themselves on vertical structures where technique and adrenaline go hand in hand.
NOTES
- The meeting point will be confirmed a few days before, depending on the best ice conditions.
- The guides will select the most suitable frozen waterfall for the group, ensuring safety and a progressive learning path.
- Full-day activity (approx. 6–7 hours, including transfers and breaks).
