Lake Ledro

Today, we had a fantastic day cycling as a family with Andrea and Stefano (apologies if I have spelling incorrect, my fault). With my family including an 11 and 13 yo, we had the best day so far in Garda. Andrea and Stefano looked after us every moment - they kept us safe, showed us amazing natural sights, took pictures and showed us amazing places to have lunch and ice cream. They were super professional, spoke amazing English, and were excellent company. Thanks for making our day unforgettable! We would 100% recommend. Thank you.

A trip of a lifetime to Lake Tenno

For the last few days we had been living the Venetian life - of the water. Today we spent a day exploring the Tyrolian life in the mountains at the North end of Lake Garda. Marco Giacomello author of the book “Mtb North Lake Garda” explained the ancient regions surrounding Lake Garda as we rode along ancient Roman trails and through villages as we climbed to 3,000 feet to Lake Tenno. Along the way we rode through Vineyards and Olive groves with Castles standing proudly on the highest points. We had eMTB’s and the riding was out of worldly. Stone trails laid by the Romans in the 17th century, gravel trails, single track through farmland and modern pathways providing an ever expanding view of Lake Garda. After 3 hours of climbing in pretty warm temperatures we arrived at Lake Tenno and promptly stripped and jumped into the lake to cool down. After our swim we headed to our lunch destination at Agritur Calvola perched on a saddle high above Lake Garda with commanding views The Matriarch greeted us and took our order and her grandchildren served us. We literally gorged on the most delicious food I can ever remember. Mamma Mia! — as Willie said. Everything we ate was grown on the Calvola farm. The recipes were handed down through generations. Filled with food and wine we rode down the mountain, through the crowded square of Riva del Garda and up the Via del Ponale - a trail carved into the rock above Lake Garda. What a view! We finished with a ride around the lake to Torbole. 35 miles of pure bliss in 7 hours.
