Sicily – Ski Touring on Mount Etna

This ski touring trip takes you far beyond the classic alpine experience.Mount Etna offers an extraordinary playground: wide volcanic slopes, natural channels carved into ancient lava flows and panoramic descents stretching from the summit area down towards the sea.

Ski touring on an active volcano means embracing constant contrasts — the crunch of snow under your skis, the dark texture of lava beneath your skins, and the Mediterranean light all around you. Each day is shaped by weather, snow conditions and volcanic activity, making every outing different and memorable.

But this journey is not only about skiing. Evenings are dedicated to Sicilian flavours, relaxed atmospheres and genuine hospitality, creating a perfect balance between adventure and culture — pure Mmove style.

PROGRAMME
The programme is indicative and may be adapted according to weather, snow conditions, volcanic activity and participants’ level.

Day 1 – Arrival in Catania
Arrival at Catania, car rental pick-up and transfer to the B&B.Depending on arrival time, free time to explore the historic centre and the famous fish market.

Days 2–3 – Ski Touring on Mount Etna
Ski touring on the most iconic areas of Mount Etna:

• Piano Provenzana and summit craters (up to 3,350 m)
• Pizzi Deneri ridges overlooking the Valle del Bove
• Selection of the best descent lines according to conditions

Lift access may be used to optimise vertical drop and snow quality.

Day 4 – Southern Slopes & Return
Final ski touring day on the southern side of the volcano.Ascent to La Montagnola (2,648 m) either with lifts or skins, followed by a spectacular descent into the Valle del Bove or alternative routes.

Transfer to Catania Airport and departure.
