DESCRIPTION

Monte Stivo, at 2050 meters, dominates Upper Garda Trentino, offering one of the most incredible views in the area. From the summit, there is a 360° panorama extending from Lake Garda to the Dolomites of Brenta, passing through the Adige Valley and the Valle dei Laghi. The hike takes you through fascinating landscapes: alpine pastures, beech forests, and panoramic ridges, all offering unforgettable views.


The itinerary includes an exciting climb and a panoramic descent that not only captivates but also provides a bit of adrenaline. A perfect trek for those who love the mountains and wish to explore one of the most scenic corners of Upper Garda.

  • Total Duration: 5-6 hours (including break)

Transfer: Departure with a transfer to Malga Campo (1385 m), the starting point of our hike.

Climb to Monte Stivo: The trail winds through pastures and forests, leading us to the panoramic ridge that leads to the summit. Once at the top, the view will be incredible, with Lake Garda spreading out below us and the Dolomites of Brenta framing the landscape.

Stop at Rifugio Marchetti: After taking in the view, we will descend for 10 minutes to Rifugio Marchetti (2009 m) for a refreshing break. Here, we can enjoy a hot meal in a welcoming environment, savoring the view of the surrounding mountains.

Panoramic descent: In the afternoon, we will head down a delightful ridge trail, passing through mountain pines and gentle ridges, leading us to the pastures of Mandrie Alte (1760 m). From there, we will continue through a cool beech forest to return to Malga Campo, completing the hike.

To participate in a Trekking excursion, it is important to bring:

  • Hiking Boots: Sturdy and comfortable shoes suitable for mountain terrain and elevation changes.
  • Backpack: A lightweight and practical backpack to carry essential items during the trek, including spare clothing. 
  • Wind/Rain Jacket: In case of sudden bad weather, to stay dry and protected. 
  • 1-litre Water Bottle: Staying hydrated throughout the journey is crucial, so bring a water bottle of at least 1 litre. 
  • Hat: To protect yourself from the sun during the walk, especially in the hottest hours. 
  • Sunglasses: Essential for protecting your eyes from UV rays, especially at higher altitudes. 
  • Sunscreen: To protect your skin from harmful sun rays during the trek. 
  • Trekking Poles (optional): Helpful for improving stability and reducing fatigue, but optional depending on personal preference.
