DESCRIPTION
Are you ready to challenge yourself and discover how to tackle new and exciting trails? On this trek, you’ll have the opportunity to walk a dynamic and never monotonous route, with rocky sections that will help you improve your walking technique!
Monte Colodri rises above Arco, at only 340 meters of altitude. Here, instead of following the traditional via ferrata, we offer an alternative path that provides spectacular views and an exciting experience. Walking along the ridge, we will head towards Monte Colt, from where you will have a unique view of the Sarca Valley and the origins of the imposing vertical walls that characterize this area.
Program:
Km 5.5 – h 3 – Elevation ↑450 m ↓450 m
We will start from the historic center of Arco and, passing through the picturesque village, reach the Collegiate Church. From here, we will take the stairs that will lead us to the Arco Castle, surrounded by the centuries-old olive grove that adorns the slopes of the Rock. Along the way, we will also discover the castle towers and some sections of the ancient defensive wall. We will then reach the Church of S. Maria di Laghel, where path number 431 will lead us through an oak forest. We will tackle some rocky sections before reaching Monte Colodri (340 m), whose 360-degree panorama offers an unforgettable view: from Lake Garda to Monte Baldo, from the Marocche di Dro to the entire valley. At the top, we will explore the historic climbing routes that marked the birth of sport climbing in the 1980s, discovering the feats of climbers who made this area famous.
After a break to enjoy the view, we will continue our trek north, following the ridge that will take us to Monte Colt (415 m). Here, we will face a variety of terrains: slabs, karst rocks, grassy sections, natural steps, and scree. Every step will help you gain confidence and technique in a varied natural environment. Once the ridge is finished, we will descend to Arco through a series of panoramic trails, completing our fascinating loop.
